MAGTEL to Furnish Television Over Existing Telephone
Lines
H. D. (Sonny) Stone announced today Oct. 31, 2007, that Magazine Telephone Company signed contracts with Falcon/IP Complete for License and Equipment to provide television over their existing telephone lines to Magazine Telephone Company Customers. Stone emphasized this as another way to provide the best up to date technology for our customers. When we install and have this equipment in operation, Magazine Telephone Company will be able to provide telephone, high speed Internet and television over one existing telephone line per customer.
Magazine Telephone Company has always been proud of our ability to provide the newest technology for our customers as it becomes available to us.
Magazine Telephone Company will be installing the resources to provide this service over the next few months as we extend the service to the different areas in the Magazine Telephone Company serving area. Starting with Magazine, Blue Mountain, and Waveland and then into our rural areas. Magazine Telephone Company plans to have this project completed by the end of 2008.
Prices for the Television will be similar to Satellite and Cable TV with packages bundled to include Triple Play (telephone, high speed internet and television) or Double Play (telephone and television). We will have a package for everyone.
Stone said that he is sorry that he cannot flip a switch and turn on everyone at the same time. People living within 3 miles of Magazine will be the first to receive this service and since Blue Mountain and Waveland have fiber to them, they will also be able to receive the service. In the outlying areas, fiber will be placed to remotes to supply the rural areas. If you live in the rural area and see a brown cabinet with a chain link fence you will know the service will be available in your area soon. A fiber cable will be placed to Sugar Grove to provide this service to our customers there.
We at Magtel are very excited about the opportunity to provide this service. From a switchboard operated by my mother in 1939 providing service to 12 customers we have been able to provide technologies to our customers because of your loyalty in your faith in us as your communication provider over the years. We will keep you informed of our progress until this project is completed. Magtel is one of the first small independent telephone companies to provide this service to their customers.
